Shepard is the playable main character in the Mass Effect Trilogy.

Commander Shepard is one of my favorite characters ever. Female Shepard is an incredibly well written female character, which is rare (at least in my experience). She's can be a badass while still keeping her femininity.
I love the choice Bioware made to make a playable character that is more than just a blank page for the player. Usually it doesn't work in RPGs, but for Shepard it worked so well, it feels much more like making choices for a character in a film and getting to choose how the film plays out!

Whenever I play Mass Effect I tend to lead towards Female Shepard because I personally like her voice acting a bit more than Male Shepard. I also usually go with a Vanguard build bc it's pretty OP to just spam Biotic Charge over and over.
