Legends and Lattes

Premise:

Viv, an Orc, wants more from her life than adventuring and killing. She decides cast that life behind her and settle down, opening a coffee shop. However, she has no idea what she's doing and no one in the town knows what 'coffee' even is. The story follows Viv as she learns to become more than someone who only knows how to kill things, and about all the friends she makes along the way.

This was my first ever 'cozy fantasy' themed book and I definately would like to read more after this one. I love the whole community feeling of this book. Viv goes from someone who has no friends to someone who has a whole community of people around her, and a girlfriend by the end.

Legends and Lattes is such a lovely book. There's not a whole lot of depth to it, but you can't pick out anything that doesn't work, in my opinion, it is a lovely and calming book that has really nice character development and loveable characters.

It also does a really good job of keeping a very small amount of tension present in a lot of scenes to keep you engaged enough to want to keep reading.

I also really love that we're getting more normalised LGBTQ+ representation in fantasy/DND style books.

If you want to read something cozy, queer and wholesome with a DND setting then this is the book for you!

I often put the audiobook of this on when I am struggling to sleep and it really helps, it's very relaxing for the most part!
